The only thing these 2 pieces have in common is that the are small.
The Left piece is from the Ottoman Empire, so early part of the
1900s. We found it is a small village in Turkey in the most amazing
shop of stuff.The flowers embedded in the silver are amazing and are
on front and back.. It is actually a prayer box. The end can be
removed and was probably used to carry a prayer.
It would be great for a necklace as the top 2 loops can be used and
the bottom loops could be beaded. I love this piece and will always
remember the shop keeper that left us in charge as he hurried off
for prayers.

The right piece is from Bhutan. I have probably had it 10-15 years. It has silver but probably not sterling. I have used this style for necklaces with great results
